Man hospitalized after beating in Macon

Macon police are investigating reports that a man was attacked and beaten by seven other men early Sunday.

The victim, identified as Kendall Golphin, was taken by ambulance to The Medical Center of Central Georgia, where he was listed as stable Sunday, according to news release from police.

A police officer on patrol was told about the beating, which happened about 5 a.m. at Whitehead and Chappell streets, but the suspects were said to have fled – at least some on bicycles when told that police had been notified, the release said.
