UPDATE: Armed robber fled with cash drawer from Macon convenience store

Dressed all in black and wearing a black baseball cap, an armed robber fled a convenience store at 1924 Forsyth St. with a cash drawer Tuesday night, police said.

Macon police Sgt. Wilton Collins said the man came into the Kwiktrip armed with a handgun and demanded the cash drawer. Collins said he got the call about the armed robbery at 9:12 p.m.

The robber fled with the cash drawer on foot and was last seen running down Pursley Street, Collins said.

Two clerks and a customer inside the convenience store during the armed robbery were not hurt, Collins said.

Police hope to be able to get a look at the suspect from the store’s video surveillance, Collins said.
