Macon woman arrested in Fort Hill shooting, police say

A Macon woman has been charged with two counts of criminal attempt to commit murder in connection with the shooting of two women on Ramona Avenue early Thursday in Macon’s Fort Hill neighborhood.

Tameka Yvette Anderson, 29, of Mohawk Road, was arrested early Friday morning, according to Bibb County jail records and Macon police.

Anderson also is charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. She is being held at the jail without bond, according to jail records.

Anderson is accused of shooting 18-year-old Samantha Blount in the chest and leg and wounding 25-year-old Candace Hooks in the leg, according to police.

The injured women told police that two women approached them while they were sitting on the back of a car in the 1200 block of Ramona Avenue about 4 a.m. Thursday.

Blount told investigators she’d had an altercation with Anderson last weekend.

Police still are looking for a second woman in connection with the shooting.
