A 25-year-old man was shot in the throat early Sunday after he chased down two teenage boys who stole his bicycle.

The incident happened about 12:13 a.m. on C Street near Eisenhower Parkway, according to a news release from the Macon Police Department.

A 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy approached the man and took his bicycle. After the bicycle thieves fled, the victim followed them down the street and confronted them. One of the suspects shot the man in the throat. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Sunday morning. Macon police arrested two juveniles in the case and charged them with aggravated assault.
