The GBI released the identity of a man whose remains were found on a rural road in Macon County last Friday, a news release stated. The man was identified as Michael Edwin Haegele, 21, of Mauk.
A man who was a friend of Haegele’s called the GBI after recognizing some surgical implants found in the remains mentioned in media reports. The GBI was then able to identify Haegele through fingerprints lifted from his mobile home. The GBI has been unable to locate any family for Haegele.
