Macon police arrest two men in theft of necklace

Macon police arrested two men Tuesday after a man was robbed at gunpoint him for his necklace, according to a police report.

The victim, Kenneth Campbell, was inside his vehicle and was approached by Tajee Smith, 20, of Ninadel Drive, who allegedly pointed a gun at Campbell and another man in the vehicle, Kentaurus Taylor, the report stated.

Smith demanded a necklace from Campbell, as well as Campbell’s cell phone. Smith then allegedly left the scene on a bicycle.

Officers later arrested Smith and charged him with armed robbery. Officers also arrested Hakeem Phillips, 24, also of Ninadel Drive, and charged him with hindering the apprehension of a felon.
