Gunman attempts robbery at Macon traffic light

A 52-year-old Macon man was stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Anthony Road and Key Street between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday when a gunman tried to rob him, according to Macon police.

The man told police another man pulled a large-caliber handgun from his pants. He then pointed it at the man and said “give it up,” according to a police report.

At about that time, the traffic light turned green and the man drove away from the gunman down Anthony Road toward Pio Nono Avenue, according to the report.
