Robbery victims beat attacker, Macon police say

A group of robbery victims beat the man who attempted to rob them at gunpoint at 11 p.m. Monday, according to Macon police.

A Rocky Creek Road woman was in the parking lot of 2301 Houston Ave., when a masked man tried to rob her and another person at gunpoint. The woman responded by saying she didn’t have any money, but there might be some in an apartment, according to a police report.

The man forced two people and another woman inside the apartment to lie on the floor, but one of the women threw a clothes iron at him. The blow struck the man in the face, allowing the group to take the man’s gun and beat him with other objects until he left, according to the report.
