Police: Man slashed while defending stepdaughter on Houston Avenue

A Macon man was slashed in the neck with a cutting object about 11 p.m. Saturday night as he tried to defend his 17-year-old stepdaughter, Macon police said.

Kelvin Willis, 32, and Ameshia Hicks were walking near a convenience store in the 3400 block of Houston Avenue when two men pulled up in a car. The passenger grabbed Hicks by the arm, and Willis pushed him away, according to a police report.

At some point, the man grabbed Hicks again and slashed Willis across the neck with an object similar to a box cutter, according to police.

The men were last seen in a brown, older-model, box-style Chevrolet headed northbound on Houston Avenue. Willis told police he didn’t want to press charges, according to the report.
