Macon man shot in leg during weekend

A 39-year-old Macon man was shot in the thigh about 4:30 a.m. Saturday on Neal Avenue, Macon police said.

Aurelius Jones was standing in front of an undisclosed residence when shots were fired. A friend took him to The Medical Center of Central Georgia, according to a police report.

Jones was only able to give police a vague description of where the shooting occurred. Witnesses were unwilling to provide details of the shooting aside from saying they heard shots fired, according to the report.
