Cross-dressing man indicted in cutting, theft

A 27-year-old man was indicted Tuesday on charges that while he was dressed as a woman, he stole ladies deodorant from a drugstore and cut an employee with a pocketknife.

Antonio Andre Walker, of Grosso Avenue, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, according to Bibb County Superior Court records.

Walker allegedly entered the Rite-Aid at 4694 Forsyth Road on Sept. 28, 2009, and put 21 sticks of women’s deodorant into a bag. Loss prevention workers stopped Walker, and he pulled out a pocket knife, according to a Macon police report.

After cutting one of the employees, Walker escaped, according to the report.

Police later apprehended him.
