Police: Domestic argument led to women being cut across from Macon post office

A Macon police report states a fight between a niece and her aunt led to both women being cut Friday morning at a house on Hardeman Avenue across from the main post office.

Tammy Jean Marchbanks, 41, is charged with battery-family violence after police and rescuers responded to a call of a woman suffering from multiple cuts at about 7:30 a.m. Friday, according to the report released this week.

Marchbanks had a gash on her arm, but her aunt, 59-year-old Patricia Rivers, also had cuts on her hands, marks on her face and was missing clumps of hair, the investigator noted in the report.

After both women were taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia, Rivers told police that Marchbanks became angry when her aunt refused to give her some of her medication. Marchbanks dragged her aunt out of bed and slammed her head into a glass table, the report stated.
