Macon man indicted in principal battery case

A Bibb County grand jury has indicted a 20-year-old Macon man on charges that he attacked an elementary school principal, causing her to break her wrist and a vertebra.

Keondre Darnell Taylor, of a South O’Hara Drive address, is charged with two counts of aggravated battery in a school safety zone, according to the indictment.

Taylor is accused of knocking Burghard Elementary School principal Lynne Donehoo to the ground, injuring her Nov. 5, 2009.He entered the Bloomfield Road school’s front foyer rapping, cursing and walking in circles. His mother was working at the school as a substitute teacher, according to a school system incident report.

Donehoo heard the commotion and asked Taylor to leave. That’s when he allegedly knocked her to the ground.Taylor is being held at the Bibb County jail on a $9,550 bond, according to jail records.

Donehoo is still on medical leave, said Chris Floore, school district spokesman.
