Houses damaged by gunfire early Monday, Macon police say

Two houses were damaged by gunfire early Monday morning, Macon police said.

A 51-year-old Leone Drive man told officers he awoke to the sound of multiple gunshots outside his home at about 12:30 a.m., according to a police report.

Five bullets went into the house, located in the 2800 block of Leone Drive North, but no one was injured. The man told officers he saw the shots coming from a white or beige Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Grand Marquis, according to the report.

An 18-year-old man told police he got a threatening call from a gang member about 20 minutes prior to the shooting, according to the report.

In a separate incident, a house in the 1000 block of Hendley Street was damaged by gunfire at about 12:34 a.m., according to police.

A 35-year-old man told officers he awoke to the sound of someone shooting up the front of his house.
