Employee robbed at gunpoint while making bank deposit in Macon

An employee of Flash Foods, 4314 Pio Nono Ave., was robbed while making a deposit Sunday morning at Colonial Bank, 501 Walnut St., according to Macon police.

The employee told officers she blew her car horn at a white Ford Crown Victoria parked in the bank’s drive-through, and the car moved forward just enough to let her pull between the barriers at about 9 a.m., according to a police report.

A man wearing a ski mask and carrying a gun then ran to her car, opened the door and demanded the store’s money bag. He also took her purse and keys before leaving in a silver Honda, according to the report.

The Ford followed the Honda out of the parking lot, she told officers.
