WR police investigating armed robbery

Police are investigating an armed robbery at Andy’s Food Mart on Wednesday.

About 10 p.m., officers were called to the convenience store, located at 1101 N. Houston Road, in reference to an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers were told two men brandishing handguns entered the store and demanded that the clerk hand over cash from the register, according to a Warner Robins police news release.

The men ran off with the money in the direction of Gawin Drive, the release stated. Detective Tom Williams of Criminal Investigations and the Criminalistics Unit responded to the scene. A dog was unable to track the suspects.

The store’s clerk received a cut to the head when he struggled with one of the suspects. He was treated on the scene, according to the news release.

The suspects were described as black men in their early 20s, dressed in dark clothing with their faces covered.Police encourage anyone with information about the armed robbery to call Williams at 929-1163 or the police department at 929-1170.
