Good Samaritan gets fired upon during robbery

A man was robbed Friday afternoon while walking through a south Macon neighborhood.

According to a Macon Police news release, the victim was walking at about 5:15 p.m. near the intersection of Sherrill Drive and Corbett Avenue when a man in a blue sweatsuit came up from behind and demanded his wallet.

The victim fought with the robber, receiving injuries to right shoulder, elbows and hands. When a motorist stopped to help the victim, the robber fired at the motorist with a handgun. The robbery victim was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia for treatment. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at (877) 68CRIME.
