Men steal Macon police golf cart downtown

Macon police arrested two men who allegedly stole a police golf cart early Saturday morning, a report said.

Police were dispatched to investigate two men driving a police golf cart at Cherry Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard about 3:20 a.m. Officers spotted the cart at the Raffield Tires store on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard with Joseph Levie Webb, 21, of Byron, in the driver’s seat, and the report stated he appeared to have been drinking. A second man, Wesley Melton Cummings, 21, of Lizella, was at Club Envy when police arrested him. Both were charged with auto theft.

The cart had been parked in a downtown parking garage.
