Two injured in shooting at Pendleton Homes

Two men were injured in a shooting at Pendleton Homes off Houston Avenue just before midnight Wednesday, according to Macon police.

Joseph Johnson, 39, and Robert Scales, 34, were involved in an altercation that ended in Scales running away from Johnson, Sgt. Zac Self said.

Johnson fired a shot at Scales as he ran, striking him in the chest. But Scales also fired several shots at Johnson as he ran, striking Johnson four times in the arms and legs, Self said.

The shooting remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
