Police ask for help identifying a suspect in 2008 homicide

WARNER ROBINS — Police are asking for help identifying one of the suspects in a 2008 homicide in Warner Robins.Ron Brown, 34, was shot to death during a botched robbery in the parking lot of Cedar Pointe Apartments in the early morning hours of Aug. 8, 2008, police said. Brown struggled with two men who threatened to rob him, was shot several times and died at the scene, police said.

Police issued a news release Monday about a Pittsburgh baseball cap with the words “Blind Side” on the back. The hat was recovered from the scene. Detectives believe one of the suspects wore the hat, the news release said.

Pittsburgh is etched in gold and “Blind Side” in red on the black cloth cap. A New Era manufacturer sticker is on the cap’s bill.
