DUI suspect Tasered by Bibb deputy after resisting arrest

A Bibb County sheriff’s deputy Sunday morning Tasered a man whom he had pulled over for reckless driving and speeding, a sheriff’s report said.

According to the report, Sgt. Brad Wolfe of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office observed Adam Scott Ford, 30, of Tennyson Trail, driving along Forsyth Road with his back tire missing. Wolfe clocked Ford going 76 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Ford was pursued to his home, where his car skidded to a halt, the report said. Wolfe smelled a strong odor of alcohol from Ford and attempted to place handcuffs on him, but Ford resisted.

The report said Wolfe told Ford to stop resisting or he would be Tasered. According to the report, Ford continued to resist and had an unspecified weapon in his free hand, causing Wolfe to Taser him. Wolfe received assistance from another deputy who had arrived. The two managed to place handcuffs on Ford, and he was charged with DUI, speeding, fleeing and eluding, reckless driving and felony obstruction.—
