Man accused of shoplifting, threatening clerks arrested

Macon police arrested Antonio Walker on Thursday and charged him with two counts of shoplifting and aggravated assault, officials said.

Macon police Sgt. Zac Self said Walker was arrested in connections with shoplifting that took place Tuesday at the Kroger on Pio Nono Avenue and the Family Dollar at 951 Hillcrest Ave.

In the latter shoplifting, Walker — dressed in women’s clothing — and a second unidentified man loaded a shopping cart with several items and attempted to leave, according to police.

When a clerk tried to block them from leaving, Walker allegedly drew a knife and threatened her and another clerk. The clerk stepped aside and let Walker leave, the police report said.
