A Bibb County sheriff’s deputy sustained a sprained knee and bruising while chasing a suspect Tuesday afternoon, a report said.
According to the report, deputies were dispatched to domestic situation at 1:50 p.m. at Summit Ridge Trailer Park on Alview Drive in Bibb County. They were advised that one of the people, William James Wright Jr., 18, had warrants on him from State Court for theft by taking and simple battery.
Wright left through a back door when deputies arrived. When one of the deputies tried to handcuff him, Wright struggled and tried to break free. He began running, and the deputy chased him through several yards before both men tripped over some briars and fell on some rocks.
Wright was arrested and charged with felony obstruction.
