Man beaten, robbed at Lamar Street home

A 44-year-old man was beaten with a gun and robbed after answering the door to his Lamar Street apartment Tuesday night, according to Macon police.

The man told police he heard a knock at the door of his apartment, located in the 100 block of Lamar Street, at about 9:40 p.m., according to a police report.

When he opened the door, two masked men dressed in black forced him to lie on the floor. The men then went through his pockets, took his money and searched his apartment, according to the report.
