Police have few clues in Wednesday shooting

Macon police are still trying to determine the motive behind a Wednesday afternoon shooting in the 3700 block of Walker Avenue.

Capt. Robert Grabowski said officers recovered several guns and they know several shots were fired, but they’re still trying to determine who fired the shots.

Desmond Hopkins, 21, was arrested Wednesday on charges of aggravated assault in the shooting of Kalvin Bland, 20. While investigating the shooting, police raided a home at 3748 Walker Ave. and found about a pound of marijuana, a 12-gauge shotgun and a .25-caliber handgun, according to a news release. The brothers were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
