Spate of car break-ins occur in downtown Macon

Macon police are investigating four car burglaries that occurred in downtown Macon and were discovered Tuesday morning, according to police reports.

Two cars — a 1996 Ford Explorer and a 2000 Nissan X-Terra — were burglarized in the 900 block of Cherry Street between Monday night and 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to the police.

Clothing, an iPod and a satellite radio were taken from one car. A wallet, watch and CDs were taken from the other car, according to police reports.A TV, digital camera, iPod and GPS system were taken from a 2008 Dodge Ram parked in the 600 block of New Street between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday, according to a police report.

A CD player was taken from a 1993 Lexus ES 300 parked in the 800 block of Mulberry Street between 5 p.m. Saturday and 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to the police.
