Teen robbed at gunpoint while walking along Bibb road

A teenager walking along Columbus Road was held up Sunday afternoon by two men with guns, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim was 17-year-old Darien Wiggins, who was robbed about 3:19 p.m. near the corner of Columbus and Brookhaven roads. Two men approached Wiggins, brandished handguns and demanded money. They took Wiggins’ wallet and ran down Brookhaven Road toward Eisenhower Parkway. Wiggins was not hurt.

One of the robbers was a black man in his early 20s with a medium complexion, dreadlocks and a goatee. He was about 6 feet tall with a medium build. The second robber was a black man in his early 20s with a dark complexion, a short haircut and a full beard. He was about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build. Both robbers were wearing white T-shirts and blue jeans.
