Macon man accused of using company card to steal

Macon police arrested an employee of Tommy Griffin Plumbing accused of using a company credit card to buy diesel fuel for semi-trucks that did not belong to the company, spending more than $71,000, according to a news release from the Macon police.

Melton Browner, a Macon man born in 1968, was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center on charges of felony theft by taking, according to the LEC Web site.

Browner was arrested Friday at 1:40 p.m. and released at 10:02 p.m. that same day on a $4,050 bond, according the Web site.

The diesel fuel purchases Browner is accused of making with the company credit card allegedly took place from October 2008 to July 2009, according to the release.
