Macon man accused in shooting arrested

A 29-year-old Macon man has been charged with criminal attempt to commit murder in a July 11 shooting at 877 Lexington St., according to Macon police.

Kelvin Dewayne Carswell was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Task Force. He also is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to a police news release.

Carswell is accused of shooting Ronnie Carr, of Maynard Street, in the arm and back. Carr is in stable condition at a local hospital, according to police.
