Man hospitalized after being shot on Macon street

A 32-year-old man was in stable condition Monday at a local hospital after being shot while he walked on Pansy Avenue at about 10:48 p.m. Sunday, according to the Macon police.

Richard Whipple was shot in the lower torso as he walked on Pansy Avenue near Iris Street, according to a police news release.

A witness told police someone in a dark colored Honda-style vehicle shot Whipple, according to the release.
