Employees reported The Ramsbottom Co., 892 Mulberry St., was burglarized sometime between 1:30 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 a.m. Monday, Macon police said.
A screwdriver was found on the floor near an office door, and a rear door was unlocked when employees arrived Monday morning, according to a police report released Tuesday.
A file cabinet containing personnel files for current and past workers was rummaged through, but “the only file that was messed with was Billy Ramsbottom’s file,” according to the report.
Also, $300 in cash was taken from the filing cabinet, and the office was dusted for fingerprints, according to the report.The report doesn’t list any suspects.
William David “Billy” Ramsbottom Jr., 43, was indicted in February on charges of racketeering, fiduciary theft, money laundering, bank fraud and forgery.
He is accused of embezzling $421,000 from partners owning a St. Simons Island shopping center.No trial date has been set.
