Teen charged with Vine-Ingle car break-ins

A 15-year-old Macon boy has been charged with 13 counts of entering automobiles in connection with a string of weekend car burglaries in the area of Ingleside and Vineville avenues, according to Macon police.

Sgt. Melanie Hofmann said the boy, whose name is being withheld because of his age, was arrested Tuesday afternoon.

She said he lives in the area where the car burglaries occurred.

Additional reports of cars being burglarized overnight Thursday on Buckingham Place and Vineville Avenue were released Tuesday as was a report of graffiti being spray-painted on a car on Corbin Avenue last Sunday.

The Friday burglaries of four Ingleside Avenue businesses are still under investigation, according to a police news release.
