Macon man accused of kidnapping arrested

A 53-year-old Jeffersonville Road man has been charged with kidnapping stemming from allegations he forced a 64-year-old man into a car on Jeffersonville Road on Saturday morning, according to the Macon police.

Johnny C. Smith is being held at the Bibb County jail on a $11,200 bond, according to jail records.

The 64-year-old man told police he was walking down the road at about 8:45 a.m. when Smith shoved him into a car driven by another man, according to a police report released Monday.

Smith struck the man with his fist and he was returned to his home with a warning that Smith and the other man would return later in the day to assault him if he didn’t produce property he believed the man stole, according to the report.

Smith was arrested later in the day after officers saw him drive past the man’s home, according to the report.
