Baldwin man gets 10 years in DUI deaths

A 23-year-old Milledgeville man has been sentenced to serve 10 years in prison and 15 years on probation in connection with the deaths of a Florida couple in October 2008, according to the Ocmulgee District Attorney’s Office.

Andrew Ray Ennis pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicular homicide, DUI and reckless driving Tuesday in Putnam County Superior Court, said prosecutor Steve Bradley.

Ennis’s blood alcohol level was measured at 0.149 on Oct. 19, 2008, soon after his car struck a motorcycle driven by 52-year-old Otis Stone “Rocky” Hunter Jr., of coastal Florida, on U.S. 441 in Putnam County south of Eatonton, Bradley said.

Hunter and his wife, 52-year-old Anna Frey Hunter, died at the scene, he said.
