Three Eatonton men were sentenced to serve life in prison Wednesday after being convicted of fatally shooting a man in the head four times in February 2004, according to the Ocmulgee District Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutor Steve Bradley said 25-year-old Tremaine Deon Calhoun, 28-year-old Billy Randy Davis Jr. and 25-year-old Joseph Joe Andrews were convicted of murder following a six-day trial and about four hours of deliberation.
The men killed 23-year-old Cornelius Lowe of Eatonton on Feb. 5, 2004, after chasing him down a path near Dickey and Alice Walker drives in Eatonton, Bradley said.
Evidence presented at trial about the angle of the bullets showed the four shots were not fired at the same time, he said.
Bradley said the case went cold until late 2007 when witnesses came forward and authorities obtained a partial DNA match from the handle of a revolver found near the scene
