Macon man hurt in shooting, won’t tell police who did it

A 38-year-old Macon man was shot with a shotgun loaded with birdshot while walking on Case Street at about 2:45 a.m. Saturday, according to the Macon police.

Craig Shelley, of Forest Avenue, said he ran to the 4000 block of Forest Avenue West for help after sustaining a gunshot wound to the right side of his body, according to a police report released Monday.

Shelley was taken to Northside Coliseum Hospital for treatment, according to the report.

A witness told police she heard a gunshot and saw a man run to an orange Chevrolet Caprice. The man drove off toward Grand Avenue, according to the report.

Shelley’s brother told officers Shelley had an argument with someone earlier and the man came back with a gun to shoot Craig Shelley. The brother refused to give any more information, according to the report.
