Kidnapped boy back with mom

A 6-year-old boy has been returned to his mother, Macon police said, after he was kidnapped Friday afternoon from Rice Elementary School in south Macon.

Shawn Clark Jr. was taken from his classroom at the Lindsey Park neighborhood school shortly after noon, according to police. He was returned to the police department's Criminal Investigation Division by his non-custodial father, 32-year-old Shawn Clark Sr., police said.

Shawn Clark Sr. surrendered to police and charges are pending, police said.

Police said the child was kidnapped by his father, who was accompanied by a 30-year-old woman, Tenica Spence.

Spence may also go by the names, Tenica Freeman and Tenica LaFaye, according to authorities.

The elder Clark removed his son from the classroom, leaving the school grounds with the boy, Spence and her child, according to police.
