A Macon man was charged Friday morning in connection with the alleged kidnapping and rape of a 36-year-old woman.
Timothy Terril Bowens, 34, of 5481 Cascade Ave., was arrested by Macon police about 5:30 a.m. at his northwest Macon residence, according to police.
He remains in custody at the Bibb County jail without bond.
Police said Bowens transported the woman from the 2400 block of Beech Avenue to an undisclosed location. He is accused of holding her at gunpoint and sexually assaulting her, according to a police news release.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Melanie Hofmann said the woman reported the incident shortly after 3:30 a.m.
Hofmann could not confirm if Bowens and the woman knew each other prior to the alleged assault.
Various evidence was collected in the case, Hofmann said. She could not confirm if the woman was treated at a local hospital or if a rape kit was performed.
