PERRY — After deliberating for five hours Friday, a Houston County jury acquitted two men accused of a sexual assault, a Houston County prosecutor says.
Jerome Quantez Hill, of Jeffersonville, and Jarquarvious Devon Anderson, of Twiggs County, were acquitted of the charges of rape, aggravated sodomy and kidnapping after the weeklong trial, said Houston County District Attorney Kelly Burke.
Jurors rendered their verdict at about 6:45 p.m., the prosecutor said.
The men were found not guilty of the Sept. 21, 2007, incident in which they had been accused of sexually assaulting a Warner Robins woman after offering her a ride. But the defense was essentially that the sex was consensual, Burke said.
