Macon man accused of three armed robberies arrested

A Macon man has been charged with armed robbery in connection with robberies at three area businesses between Jan. 14 and March 27, according to the Macon police.

Walter Lee Howard Jr.,43, was arrested on April 7, according to a news release issued Friday.

Information regarding Howard’s arrest was withheld by investigators to protect the investigation, said Sgt. Melanie Hofmann.

Howard, of Atwood Drive, has been linked to the Jan. 14 armed robbery of Marathon, 4116 Napier Ave.; Jan. 17 armed robbery of Fine Fair Grocery, 3741 Napier Ave.; and the March 27 armed robbery of Powell’s Pharmacy, 4839 Bloomfield Road., according to the release.

Howard is being held at the Bibb County jail without bond.

He is currently on parole for armed robbery, according to the release.
