Arrest warrant issued for Macon teen in Dirty Iguana shooting

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Macon teenager in connection with the Sunday night shooting at Dirty Iguana, 543 Plum St., according to Macon police.

Police are searching for 17-year-old Keith Gyrone Foster Jr., who will be charged with aggravated assault, Sgt. Melanie Hofmann said.

Kenya Palmer, 19, of West Grenada Terrace, and 16-year-old Davone Frazier, of Suwanee Avenue, were each shot in the ankle, authorities said.

Someone called police at about 11:30 p.m. in reference to a fight, according to a police report released Monday.

When officers arrived, security guards told them there likely would be more trouble because the deejay was doing a “call out,” Hofmann said.

The deejay asked the crowd to yell out the areas of town where they lived, and the crowd became “excited and riled up,” according to the report.

A fight broke out, and people spilled outside where someone started firing several shots into the crowd and at officers, according to the report.

Hofmann said she’s unsure how many shots were fired.

A witness told police that a man fired a black automatic handgun into the outside crowd.

Preliminary investigation points to the shooting being related to gang activity, according to the report.
