Hinesville fugitive arrested in Macon

A wanted man, featured on the TV show “America’s Most Wanted,” was arrested Friday in Macon after a police officer spotted him breaking into cars off Riverside Drive, according to the Macon police.

The officer spotted James Morris Howard, 39, at about 12:30 a.m. breaking into cars parked inside a fenced area around Enterprise Rental, 2135 Riverside Drive, according to a police news release.

When caught inside a vehicle, Howard identified himself as Kevin Wayne Lewis, according to the release. He was arrested and charged with two counts of entering auto, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of burglary tools, according to the release.

Police say the man’s fingerprints matched those of James Howard, who has been a fugitive from Hinesville since 2004.

Howard was wanted for the murder of his parents, Mildred and Jewel Cleveland, who were killed in Hinesville in March 2004. Their bodies were discovered in a shallow grave on their property in June 2004, according to the release.

Howard is being held at the Bibb County jail.
