Bibb County sheriff''s investigators said they have located Lauren Harrell, the Lake Wildwood 14-year-old reported missing from her home March 8.
Sheriff's office spokesman Lt. George Meadows said investigators received an anonymous tip that led to Harrell at a Grace Road residence in Crawford County at about 3 p.m. today.
“She is being interviewed now. She is safe,” Meadows said.
Authorities had been searching for the teenager for days, following up on leads and reported sightings in the vicinity of Interstate 475 and U.S. 80 in Bibb County, and in the Bloomfield neighborhood in south Macon.
Investigators have said they believe Harrell left her home voluntarily with an unknown male she met on the Internet.
Since the day she went missing, Harrell's parents had circulated fliers containing her photograph and seeking information about her whereabouts.
“Lauren is loved and we want her home,” they wrote.
No other details about Harrell’s discovery are being released, according to authorities.
The case remains under investigation by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
