Two Macon men suspected of motel robbery arrested

Two Macon men are behind bars in connection with a December armed robbery at the Value Place Motel, 4949 Harrison Road.

Cleveland Lanthrip, 21, of Pinchfield Drive, and Dominick Williams, 31, of Reynolds Drive, are charged with robbing the Bibb County motel the morning of Dec. 9.

Lanthrip was arrested Monday after Macon police responded to a domestic dispute involving the suspect, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Williams was taken into custody Tuesday.

Both men are being held at the Bibb County jail without bond, according to jail records.

Authorities said Williams entered the motel, displayed a handgun and demanded money from a clerk before forcing the clerk into a room and fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Investigators said Lanthrip acted as a lookout during the robbery and was at the motel’s front desk minutes before the incident took place.

The men left the scene in a vehicle described as a dark red Plymouth Voyager or Dodge Caravan minivan, according to authorities.

Members of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force assisted Bibb deputies in the investigation.
