Macon teen sentenced to 13 years in prison for robbery

A Macon teenager was sentenced to serve 13 years in prison and 17 years on probation after pleading guilty to armed robbery and aggravated assault Thursday in Bibb County Superior Court, according to the Bibb County District Attorney’s Office.

Leon Stapleton, 17, of Lynmore Circle, robbed Fast Fuel, 3855 Broadway, on Sept. 15, 2008, along with another man, said Sandra Matson, an assistant district attorney.

Stapleton and the other man were armed with handguns and demanded that employees open the store and give them money from the cash register, she said.
