Foul play suspected in death of Macon County man found at his home

The GBI in Americus is investigating the death of a 70-year-old Macon County man found inside a Croxton Road home early Wednesday, according to authorities.

Albert White was discovered some time before 11 a.m. by friends who came to his residence, 70 Croxton Road, near Ga. 26 East, Macon County Coroner Grover Barfield said. Barfield said law enforcement officials are investigating the incident as a homicide, the first this year in Macon County.

“At this time, we suspect some foul play and the body has been taken to the crime lab in Macon for an autopsy,” Barfield said.

An autopsy is scheduled for this morning, according to authorities. Barfield would not comment on the condition of White’s body when it was located. He could not confirm if any arrests have been made in the incident.
