Family members seek answers in loved one’s death

Family members pleaded Friday for people to come forward with information about the Dec. 28 death of 24-year-old Marico Deontae “Rico” Williams.

“We still have a lot of questions that need to be answered,” said Latoya Bronson, Williams’ sister.

Police said they are hoping additional tips will help focus their investigation.Williams was killed while driving east on Eisenhower Parkway near Oglesby Place after celebrating his birthday at Club Money’s on Pio Nono Avenue and Hits Sports Bar and Grill on Bloomfield Drive just prior to the shooting.

Williams was riding with his half-brother, Brandon Williams, when the two men heard gunshots about 5:10 a.m.

Rico Williams was shot in the head and was pronounced dead at 6:16 a.m. Brandon Williams was injured when the car ran off the road and crashed.

Williams’ family has pledged an additional $1,000 CrimeStoppers reward to equal a total of $2,000 that is being offered for information leading to the arrest of Williams’ killer.
