Man robbed while walking in Macon neighborhood

A 21-year-old Macon man was robbed at gunpoint just before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday while walking on Bailey Avenue near Napier Avenue, according to the Macon police.

The man told police he was walking down Bailey Avenue toward Napier Avenue when a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and white shoes pulled out a gun and demanded money, according to a police report.

The man complied, and the robber ran down Bailey Avenue toward Mercer University Drive. While talking with police, the man admitted he had been drinking and said he was having trouble breathing.

Officers called an ambulance at the man’s request. He was treated at the scene and was not taken to the hospital, according to the report.
