Macon man indicted on multiple counts

A 24-year-old Macon man was indicted Tuesday by a Bibb County grand jury on two counts of conspiracy to commit murder, according to Bibb County Superior Court records.

Clifford Robert Smalls, of Lon Ridge Drive Place, also is charged with four counts of criminal solicitation, one count of robbery by intimidation, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to the records.

Smalls is accused of robbing the BB&T Bank, 1302 Gray Highway, on Nov. 27, 2007, according to his indictment.

He is alleged to have performed surveillance and driven to a woman’s house with the intent to kill her on Dec. 8 and Dec. 9. Additionally, Smalls is accused of getting directions to a man’s house and driving there with the intent to kill him, according to the indictment.

Smalls is being held at the Bibb County jail without bond, according to jail records.MA.
