The state has renewed a $115,600 grant that funds the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office’s H.E.A.T. unit, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
The Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic unit consists of three Dodge Chargers that were purchased with grant money from the state in 2007, according to the release.
Funds for three patrolmen also are included in the grant.
The H.E.A.T unit made 275 DUI arrests in Bibb County in 2008 and wrote more than 5,000 citations, according to the release.
